What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate Marketing is a dynamic way of making money online.  It is growing in popularity daily, and the best part of it is that just about anyone can get involved.

Affiliates own their own websites and promote the services and products of others. It is a little like being their 'commission agent'. You market someone else's item on your website, and the sale is electronically passed to the manufacturer who delivers it, and deposits nice commission into your account. Look carefully at sites in whose topics you have an interest. If they have an affiliates program it will often be listed on the home page, sometimes on the footer, but if you cannot see it, why not contact them?

Nowadays affiliate marketing networks are very efficient and, once established, there is little site management involved. When your website visitors make the decision to purchase, they click on a link which takes them to the ordering section of the distributor's website. This link contains your affiliate details, and once the transaction is finalized, the owner's system will automatically credit your account with the appropriate 'commission'.

Successful affiliate websites are always supported by some continued marketing, at least some simple articles and blog postings should be written.
